coronavirus updates

With the uncertainty of Covid-19, we will be using this page to provide all our loyal customers
with news of the Abingdon Arms.

We are following the governments advice and it is with great sadness that we are now CLOSED to the public. As a hospitality business we have an extra duty of care towards our customer and staff members. We are actively taking steps to ensure best practices during the Covid-19 pandemic and we are therefore closing in attempt to keep everybody safe.

We are fully aware that a lot of people are in local and surrounding villages are self-isolating and we want to take this opportunity to look after you from home! We are therefore pleased to announce that we are providing a take-away and delivery menu. This will be no contact way of providing you with a hot home cooked meal. If you are still able to walk or drive to the pub, take away will be provided. If you are really struggling or have been advised to not leave your home, Suzy will deliver to the Beckley area. Please call her directly with any questions.

We are also opening a 'village shop' from 12pm-8pm (most days, see below for any closures)
to supply all our locals with necessities that you may be
struggling to find or buy elsewhere. Suzy will be the only member of staff in the building and therefore, if the phones are not being answered, she may be out delivering. Therefore, please bare with us and keep trying. Alternatively email us at theabingdonarmsoxford@gmail.com

Please see below our menu and shop items, all timings and details you will find on the menu

Give us a call on 01865 655667, we will only be taking card payments over the phone when you place your order. Please do provide us with as much time as possible, if you would like to pre order your food a few hours before you want to order, that would be fantastic and give our chefs plenty of time to prepare.

We thoroughly monitor all of our staff members and no staff members who show any flu like symptoms are allowed to enter the premises to protect themselves and others. The vast majority of our staff live in our staff accommodation and do not require transport to and from work. Our staff are washing their hands regularly and also making use of disposable gloves in all food preparation areas and service.

All of our glassware, plates, cutlery, pots and pans are washed using commercial detergents.

We would like to thank you all for your support and reassurance at this time of crisis. Many small businesses will struggle, ours could be included, and we therefore rely on the help of all our customers to keep us going in this very taunting time. If you are not considering indulging in our take away option, perhaps you would consider buying a gift voucher which would be valid for 12 months. A small gesture such as this will be the difference between us coming out of this pandemic with a positive outlook or quite frankly, going out of business.
